VIA Nano dual core processor

Tech Connect Magazine reports that VIA is working on an Intel Atom competitor. A post has appeared on a Chinese website which talks about a very efficient dual core processor, called the VIA Nano 3000.

It's rumored that the chip will be produced on the Fujitsu 45nm process, but a 40nm version is also possible. The processor is likely to feature the SSE4-intruction set as well. Apart from this dual core processor, VIA would also be working on multiple other single core CPUs to expand its line-up.

It is clear that both the Intel Atom 230 and 330, as well as AMD's Conesus, will have a new competitor in the netbook market.
